📋 Overview

⚠️ As of 30 June 2026, Wirex shut down the crypto side (funding, exchange, spending and Cryptoback) in the EEA and Australia. The crypto card is no longer offered in France or the EU; Cryptoback only remains in the UK, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Taiwan. The description below documents the historical offer.

Wirex is a British fintech founded in 2014, specializing in multi-currency accounts and crypto payments. The Wirex Card (Visa) was available in 150+ countries and supported 150+ cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies.

💰 Cashback & Rewards

⚠️ The Cryptoback™ programme was discontinued in the EEA on 30 June 2026; the rates below now only apply in the UK, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Taiwan. Wirex cashback varied by plan: Standard (free): 0.5% in WXT; Premium (€4.99/month): 1.5% in WXT; Elite (€9.99/month): up to 8% in WXT for certain categories.

💳 Fees & Conditions

Fees vary by plan. The Standard plan is free but with limited benefits. Premium and Elite plans cost €4.99 and €9.99/month respectively. ATM withdrawals are free up to €200/month on the Standard plan.

🔒 Security & Regulation

Wirex is regulated by the FCA in the UK and operates with licenses in the EU. The platform uses end-to-end encryption and 2FA. Funds are segregated.

📱 User experience

The Wirex app is functional but less modern than Crypto.com or Binance. It allows management of 150+ currency accounts, instant conversion, and cashback tracking. The card is Apple Pay compatible.

Our verdict

3.5

out of 5

Wirex Card is interesting for its exceptional geographic coverage and multi-currency support. It suits international travelers particularly well. However, cashback in WXT is unattractive given the token's low liquidity.
